HOPSA USA-Canada Code of Conduct

  • Respect and Dignity: Treat all members with respect, courtesy, and consideration.
  • Honesty and Integrity: Maintain high ethical standards in all interactions and actions.
  • Confidentiality: Protect the privacy of alumni information and adhere to established guidelines.
  • Professionalism: Conduct oneself in a manner that reflects positively on the alumni association and our Alma Mater
  • Inclusivity: Foster an inclusive environment that welcomes all members, regardless of personal or professional background or titles.

Specific Behaviors to Avoid:

  • Harassment and Discrimination: Refrain from any form of harassment, discrimination, or bullying.
  • Threats and Intimidation: Avoid any behavior that could be perceived as threatening or intimidating.
  • Defamation and Misinformation: Refrain from spreading false or misleading information about other members or the Association.
  • Breach of Confidentiality: Do not disclose confidential information about other alumni without their consent.

Specific to Alumni Associations:

  • Supporting the Mission: Embrace and support the mission and goals of HOPSA USA-Canada
  • Upholding the Values: Behave in a way that upholds the values, integrity, and reputation of HOPSA USA-Canada.
  • Using Information Appropriately: Use information about alumni within the guidelines of HOPSA USA-Canada.
  • Taking Responsibility: Take responsibility for your actions and decisions.
  • Supporting Leadership: Support and uphold the decisions of the association’s leadership.
  • Creating a Positive Experience: Strive to create a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
